Cleverly integrating the basic functionality of Velcro® with delicious color combinations, a sixties pop sensibility, and Willy Wonka-like whimsy, Tinymonkey creates unique greeting cards for any occasion. The company was started in the fall of 2001 by native Californian Sandy Lee, who moved to New York after graduating from Brown University. The name comes from a dream she had years ago in which a New York Times headline inexplicably read: Medium-sized Monkey Fights Tiny Monkey! When the fledgling greeting card business needed a name, “tinymonkey” was pitch-perfect. The company has won several industry awards for its innovative take on the greeting card. Having appeared in publications such as InStyle, Lucky, and Time Out New York, Tinymonkey Cards can be found at distinctive retailers around the country, including Fred Segal in Los Angeles and Kate’s Paperie in New York.
