Dear Friends,
I am often asked questions about my business and how it all works. In the world of business our story is a unique one and one that we are proud to share with you. The "Hub of the Universe" for Magic Cabin Dolls is in Viroqua, a small farming community in southwestern Wisconsin. We consist of 17 women working in varying capacities to create the "magic" of Magic Cabin Dolls. I work with Kathy and Birgit; together we design new products, find and choose the products from outside sources, design and write the catalog, and work with others in the organization to ensure quality, prompt service and delivery. Judy and Reta are our Production Magicians and they take our product designs and order all the materials and coordinate the work for more than one dozen craftswomen. These dedicated artisans make our handmade and machine-sewn items, such as the dolls and clothing, most working in their homes. Approximately 40% of our products are Magic Cabin originals, designed by us, with about half of those being made here in the Viroqua area. The balance of our products come from other U.S. artisans and businesses, and from Europe, where old-world traditions still produce toys that are in balance with our mission. Each of us at Magic Cabin Dolls strives toward perfection in creating "Childhood's Purest Treasures," a delightfully simple assortment of heirloom-quality, all-natural playthings. We hope that you find our selection and our story inspirational.
